Overview of all answers.

01

Review the legal basis first

First review which legal position actually exists. Documents, procedural stage and the specific role in the estate are decisive.

Without this basis, no robust next step can be set.

02

Secure documents and values

Collect available documents and mark gaps. In inheritance disputes, the decisive point is often not first impression but provable facts.

03

Address the dispute in structure

If the other side objects or delays, the demand should be specific and evidenced. General allegations sharpen the conflict without improving the position.

Why an incorrect schedule sharpens the dispute

The estate schedule is the basis for many later decisions: liability, compulsory portion, estate division and settlement talks. If accounts, debts, transfers or property values are missing, the picture is distorted.

An error does not automatically mean bad faith. It must nevertheless be corrected quickly and with evidence, otherwise later steps rest on a wrong basis.

Which errors are typical

Foreign accounts, private loans, digital assets, insurance, open taxes or records on earlier transfers are often missing. Valuation errors for real estate also quickly lead to compulsory portion disputes.

With debts, it is important to distinguish genuine estate liabilities, mere assertions and private equalisation claims.

How parties prepare a correction

Collect bank statements, contracts, valuations, tax documents, insurance information and correspondence. Then identify the error specifically: which item is missing, which value is wrong, which evidence supports the correction?

An orderly correction makes review easier for the court commissioner and prevents the dispute from drifting into side issues.

A correction should be specific and evidenced. General allegations help little; a missing bank statement or traceable valuation helps much more.
Frequent questions

Incorrect estate schedule: correction and evidence in probate proceedings

Can an estate schedule be corrected later? +
Yes, if new information or evidence appears. The error should be identified specifically and the correction documented.
What is the difference from the inventory? +
That depends on procedural stage and function. The key point is which list forms the basis for liability, valuation or division.
Which evidence is most useful? +
Bank statements, contracts, valuations, tax documents, insurance information and records on transfers are especially helpful.
